In today's reading of 'Everyday Happy: 365 Ways to a better you', by Jenny Hare, the message was to believe in my own luck.
This is so true and is something I already do! I must admit I derive great pleasure from it as well! I am constantly signing up for TravelChannel Sweepstakes, radio contests, etc. in hopes of winning amazing things, and I have been lucky in doing so. I have won tickets to U2 concerts, gifts cards, money, movie tickets, food, a DVD player, and the list goes on. It's so much fun winning something, especially when I have nothing to lose. It's an instant happy.
Every time I register for something, I always have a feeling that I am going to win, which I think only increases my chances of winning/succeeding. Today's message confirmed that thought when she said, 'self belief is vital for good luck.' This year alone, I've won (also earned) a trip to Paris through work and my boyfriend John Mark won a trip to Napa through his work, which my lucky self gets to go on!
I also consider myself to be lucky in love. I feel so fortunate to have a loving, caring boyfriend who makes me feel special everyday. I am also blessed with a loving family, who I know will always be there for me. I haven't always been so lucky in love, and it took a long time of believing that luck would turn around before it did. Like today's message said, 'We all have ups and downs in life, but feeling lucky is a great way to go, and it increases your chances of success.'
I believe in my own luck!

U-turns are OK!
U-turns are OK!
I as mentioned in my first post to the 'Everyday Feliz' blog, I started 2013 with reading "Everday Happy: 365 Ways to a better you" by Jenny Hare. Some days the message really hits home and speaks to me, like "I was meant to hear that today." Today was one of those days.
"Changing your mind takes courage, and, when it's the right thing to do, it will make you happy."
I always find it hard to change my mind or back out of uncomfortable situations because I don't want to hurt someone's feelings.
Looking back at my life, I can think of many situations in which I didn't confront issues head on because I was afraid of hurting someone's feeling or afraid of conflict in general. How I wish I would have gone with my gut, and just have spoken up. The longer I waited, the bigger the damage that was done.
I have found that dealing with issues immediately is the best practice in my personal and professional life. Waiting only causes more worry and frustration, and sometimes can make matters even worse.
Today I am embracing this message, u-turns are ok. Life and people change constantly, and if the path you were going is no longer they way you want to go, then it's okay to turn around and go a different direction.

The difference a year can make!
It's amazing what a difference a year can make! This time last year I was coming out of the depths of a very dark and destructive relationship. I had lost hope in men in general and had grown not to trust anyone.
I had been encouraged by two of my good girl friends in January of 2012 to meet a guy that they both were well acquainted with, John Mark Davis (JM). Nothing ever came of their encouragement, until June of 2012. JM asked me out for drinks on June 8th and we've been inseparable ever since.
The best way to describe JM's personality is to use a quote that he often says, "I do happy, and I don't do sad."He is honest, loyal, trustworthy, kind, caring, and most importantly fun! I truly believe he has changed my life for the better and I can't and don't want to imagine my life without him. We share almost everything in common and sometimes finish each others sentences. I've definitely met my match! He makes me want to be the best I can be, and I would like to think I do the same for him.
Like the title of this post says, what a difference one year can make! I encourage anyone who is in an unhealthy relationship or not living the life they want to live to not lose hope because you never know how quickly your life can change for the better.

New Year- Everyday Feliz
At the beginning of the new year I like to take the opportunity to think of it as a fresh start. I always set at least 3 goals for myself every year that I want to accomplish. Most of the times these goals being to lose weight, get into better shape, various work related goals, and always to do better at building up my savings.
In an effort to get myself motivated I began reading a book called 'Everyday Happy: 365 Days to a Happier You' by Jenny Hare. http://www.amazon.com/Everyday-Happy-365-Ways-Better/dp/1846013321
Every morning in my office, we start off our morning by reading the encouraging, motivational and positive message for the day. It has only been three weeks of doing this, but I have already notice a tremendous improvement in my attitude, my co-workers attitudes, and the overall positivity within our office.
This not only has improved office morale, but has also spilled over into my personal life. Looking at things as half full, and not half empty. Looking for the positive in every situation, no matter what the circumstance may be.
I cannot wait to see what 2013 has in store for me!
